Co-founders Kimberly and Savannah were overwhelmed at the love shown by artist Shirley Cooper of Groovy Gems. Kimberly is usually the one that cries, but this act of kindness even brought Savannah to tears. So thankful for the outpouring of love, support and encouragement!

Small Brush Big Impact – Wands for Wildlife

Thanks to the tremendous response from a Facebook post about recycling mascara wands, much needed supplies and support have come in to help open the doors of the wildlife triage facility to care for thousands of animals. 

On March 10, 2017, Appalachian Wild Co-Founder Savannah Trantham shared a post about a simple way to help wildlife. She explained that we use mascara brushes to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals. She asked for donations of used wands be sent to Appalachian Wild.

The Facebook post has gone viral along! Over 1,000 brushes arrived in the first week and high activity on the website has led to purchases of much needed supplies and items off the Wishlist.
