Small Brush Big Impact – Wands for Wildlife

Thanks to the tremendous response from a Facebook post about recycling mascara wands, much needed supplies and support have come in to help open the doors of the wildlife triage facility to care for thousands of animals. 

On March 10, 2017, Appalachian Wild Co-Founder Savannah Trantham shared a post about a simple way to help wildlife. She explained that we use mascara brushes to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals. She asked for donations of used wands be sent to Appalachian Wild.

The Facebook post has gone viral along! Over 1,000 brushes arrived in the first week and high activity on the website has led to purchases of much needed supplies and items off the Wishlist.

Wands are still being accepted, but there are other ways to help as well - check out the wishlisht, make a donation, volunteer! www.appalachianwild.org
