In this video I show two methods to create your own Washi tape AKA Decorative tape.

In first method, I have used Cardboard Tube / Toilet roll tube to create a base for the Washi tape.

1) Cut the cardboard tube along the length and open it.

2) Measure the tape size you want and cut the cardboard in across direction as you can see in the video. This is required to cut the cardboard roll consistently.

3) Re-roll the cardboard into a tube with the help of glue gun.

4) Now take any decorative paper or you can also use gift wrapping paper. Make sure that the paper you are using is thin. As well as the dual tape you are using is suppose to be thin size.

5) Flip over the decorative paper and stick one side (i.e. any of the Sticky side , one without protective cover) of dual tape on the paper.

6) Continue to stick decorative paper sequentially on dual tape without leaving any gap.

7) After completing sticking decorative paper cut the dual sided tape and roll it on the cardboard tube. i.e. The base we created. (Step no.3)

In second method, I have used Masking Tape, acrylic paints.
1) Stick masking tape on a glass surface
2) Paint it with any acrylic paint colour of your choice
3) Let it dry
4) Once its dry make the design you want on the masking tape with permanent marker pen.
5) Stick the tape on wax paper
6) Cut the wax paper to desired width across the masking tape.
