Outdoor Movie Screen Tutorial
You'll need:
A 9-by-5-foot black cloth
A 9-by-5-foot white cloth
Carpet Tape
PVC pipe in the following lengths:
9 feet
5 feet (x2)
4.5 feet (x2)
3 feet (x9)
90° elbow connectors (x2)
T-junction connectors (x6)
Instruction:
1. Against a flat surface (e.g., floor or grass), start with assembling the top left corner of the outdoor movie screen. Using one (1) 90° elbow connector that is laying flat on the floor, join one (1) 5-foot and 9-foot PVC pipe together. The 5-foot pipe should be inserted into the bottom opening, while the 9-foot pipe should be inserted into the upper opening.
2. Next assemble the top right corner of the outdoor movie screen. Use one (1) 90° elbow connector to connect to the other end of the 9-foot PVC pipe. Join the base of the elbow connecter with another 5-foot PVC pipe.
3. Next, form the bottom border of the movie screen. Start with assembling the bottom right corner. Attach a T-junction connector to the end of the 5-foot PVC pipe. Connect 4.5-foot PVC pipe to the middle opening on the T-junction. Lastly, connect one (1) 3-foot PVC pipe to the bottom opening of the T-junction.
4. Next, assemble the bottom left corner. Attach a T-junction connector to the end of the 5-foot PVC pipe (left side of projector). Connect 4.5-foot the middle opening on the T-junction. Lastly, connect one (1) 3-foot PVC pipe to the bottom opening of the T-junction.
5. After this, assemble the bottom middle of the movie screen. Using one (1) T-junction connect the 4.5-foot pipes from the bottom left corner and the bottom right corner together. Connect one (1) 3-foot PVC pipe to the middle opening on the T-junction. Lastly, connect one (1) T-junction via its middle opening, to the bottom of the 3-foot PVC pipe.
6. Next, complete the legs of the movie screen. Connect one (1) 3-foot PVC pipe on either side of the openings on the T-junction that is attached to the bottom of the previous 3-foot PVC pipe. Connect one (1) 3-foot PVC pipe to each of the remaining T-junction openings on the other two legs.
7. Adhere carpet tape along the four outside edges of the movie frame formed by the top half of the structure. Secure the 9-by-5-foot white cloth to one face of the frame, covering one entire side of the rectangular space while leaving room on the strips of carpet tape. Then secure the 9-by-5-foot black cloth to the back side of the frame.
